FLORENCE, AL – The Sunseri Speaker Series at the University of North Alabama will feature Chef Lisa Ramsey, who will deliver a presentation titled “How Science, Music, and Art Influence the Culinary World.” The event will take place March 19 at 6 p.m. in the Performance Center of the Guillot University Center on the UNA campus.

Light the Fountain, the beloved springtime tradition on the University of North Alabama campus, is set for 6:30 p.m. March 14 at Harrison Fountain and Plaza. Joel Anderson II, a member of the UNA Board of Trustees as well as a co-chair of the Shine On, Gold comprehensive campaign for UNA, is slated to light the fountain at 7:30 p.m.
The month of March is meaningful at the University of North Alabama for a few reasons – Light the Fountain takes place; students, faculty, and staff disperse for Spring Break; and, perhaps most important of all, UNA embarks on a tradition of encouraging 1,830 donors to give to the institution throughout March as part of the 1830 Giving Initiative.
The second Urban Music Symposium will be March 15 from 1-6 p.m. at the Mane Room, with recent Grammy award-winning and Billboard No. 1 platinum and gold selling producer, Luke Crowder, set to speak. Crowder has worked with notable artists including Drake, Lil Wayne, and Childish Gambino.
University of North Alabama’s Dr. Michael Pretes, Professor and Chair of Geoscience, has been selected as the Distinguished Visiting Professor of Geography at the United States Air Force Academy for the 2024-25 academic year, beginning in July.
